Our Transition Services for Military & Military Spouses
Career & Services Network
We provide transition employment guidance and connect veterans with job opportunities through our Talent Connect network, which includes veteran-friendly employers across Catawba County and the Hickory Metro. Our goal is to support career growth and help veterans find meaningful private or public opportunities.
Professional Connections
Building both social and professional networks is essential for growth and opportunity. Our Professional Connections Group connects veterans with peers, mentors, and industry leaders, offering guidance, support, and access to new career paths. Whether you’re seeking advancement, exploring new roles, or looking for leadership opportunities, these relationships can open doors and provide valuable resources throughout your journey.
Resource Navigation
Navigating local and statewide resources is essential for veterans and military families. From housing and healthcare to education and VA benefits, having access to the right tools can make all the difference. With so many helpful organizations available, we’ve curated a list of the most valuable resources to simplify your search. Whether you need financial aid, mental health support, or career services, we’re here to connect you with the best options to support your journey.
The First Step: Our Career & Services Network
The best way for HKY4Vets to help is by understanding how we can assist from the start. That’s why we ask service members and spouses to provide some initial background information via the network button below. This allows us to quickly identify your needs, determine how we or our partners can best support you, and connect you to the right resources.
Whether you’re interested in Professional Connections events or setting up a 1-on-1 call or meeting, this is the place to start. Let’s get you connected and moving forward.
HKY4Vets Professional Connections
Whether you're new to the area or a lifelong Hickory Metro resident, making meaningful connections can be challenging. Many veterans tell us they want to connect with other veterans—both socially and professionally. That’s exactly what HKY4Vets Professional Connections aims to do.
We host 4-6 events a year to foster fun, build valuable relationships, and raise awareness of valuable resources. Although still growing, we have big plans ahead, like mentoring opportunities and a veterans business collective. Get started by joining our Network (green button above)—we’ll keep you in the loop!
Navigating Valuable Resources
Since launching in 2016, one of the most rewarding discoveries has been learning about the incredible resources available in our region and across North Carolina to support military members and their families. We’ve connected with many organizations and can confidently vouch for many of their commitment to serve those who served us.
We’ve cataloged these resources for easy access, but note: our office does not handle VA benefits. For assistance with those, please refer to the appropriate resource listed in our directory.
